BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's athletics department will continue its efforts to promote literacy for children as student-athletes from the football team will participate in class readings at A.D. Henderson Elementary, on FAU's Boca Raton campus 777 Glades Road, Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at 10:15 a.m.

The literacy program is sponsored by the 2nd & 7 Foundation, a non-profit organization that provides free books and positive role models for kids.

The student-athletes will read a book to students followed by a discussion stressing the importance of reading, academic achievement, making good decisions and how to resist peer pressure. Each student will receive a free book to practice reading on their own.

The event is sponsored by the 2nd and 7 Foundation, which was started by former Ohio State University football players Mike Vrabel, Luke Fickell and Ryan Miller. The purpose of the foundation is to promote literacy and provide positive role models to young children. FAU is one of seven schools that participate in the program nationwide.
