BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University's football team marched through the paces Friday morning and just hung around the field with a positive energy knowing week two of spring drills were in the books.
The Owls worked through 14 sessions in just over two hours and were often buoyed by the play of the defense.
During team drills the defense forced and recovered a fumble by one of the backs and just a few plays later Damian Parms grabbed an interception.
As the practice moved into the final team session of the week, each of the three quarterbacks was able to smoothly run their plays. Stephen Curtis had the long pass of the day with Jeremy Glinton on the receiving end of a touchdown pass. Tony Moore was the go-to-guy during quarterback Jaquez Johnson's rotation. Moore had several strong carries and several catches out of the backfield.
The defense shined once again with defensive lineman Martin Wright and defensive back Chris Milstead combining for a forced fumble and recovery.
The Owls will return to the practice field Monday, April 1 at 9 a.m. Practices are closed to the general public.
FAU will host the 2013 spring game at 2 p.m. April 20th, in the GEO Group Stadium. Admission to the spring game will be free of charge. The athletic department also will host a "select a seat" at the 2013 Spring Game or tickets may be purchased by calling 1-866-FAU-Owls. The game will be carried live by ESPN 106.3 FM as well as online at www.fausports.com. ESPN's Ken LaVicka will have the call.
