Football to Host Women’s Football 101 Clinic

The Florida Atlantic football coaching staff and players will host a Women’s “Football 101 Clinic” Thursday, Feb. 18, beginning at 6 p.m. Proceeds from the event will benefit the FAU Military/Veteran Student Scholarship Fund.

“I’m excited to get a chance to teach the ladies of south Florida the basics of football and what life is like as a Division I college football player,” said FAU Head Football Coach Charlie Partridge. “I’m also excited to donate all proceeds to veterans here on campus that have returned from serving our country and are now working to accumulate back into being a college student.”
The evening events include a tour of the stadium, a player question and answer session, and an equipment presentation, as well as on-field drills. Participants are encouraged to wear athletic attire as they will have the opportunity to participate in actual plays managed and run by the coaching staff and players.

The registration cost is $50, with all proceeds being donated. To reserve your spot, contact Heather Henderson, FAU’s director of football operations, at While advanced registration is appreciated, walk-ups are accepted as well. The first 50 to RSVP will receive a gift and “Smirnoff Ice” will be on site to present a personalized “Mason Jar” to all participants.

FAU football will begin spring practice on Tuesday, March 15. The Owls will hold one spring practice at Carter Park in Broward County, scheduled for Tuesday, March 22, and will play their Spring Game at FAU Stadium on Saturday, April 16 at 1 p.m.
