FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. (AP) - Anthony Jackson ran for 111 yards and scored twice to lift Florida Atlantic to a 31-26 victory over Gardner-Webb on Saturday.
Allen was 9-of-13 for 140 yards, and Embick was 6-of-8 for 56 yards.
Gardner-Webb (6-3) cut the lead to four points in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard quarterback sneak by Nick Roberts.
The Bulldogs regained possession at their own 21 with 2:52 remaining, but the Owls stopped them on four plays to seal the victory.
Roberts completed 26 of 41 passes for 206 yards in the loss. Chris Foster ran 13 times for 105 yards and scored once. Harold Wells also ran for a touchdown.
Tied at 14 in the second quarter, Jackson second his second touchdown to five the Owls a seven-point lead.
Florida Atlantic made it 28-17 after Embick found Anthony Crissinger-Hill for a 2-yard scoring pass.
Gardner-Webb scored first in the game, culminating an 11-play, 72-yard drive
with Foster's 4-yard touchdown run.
