2012:Served as the team's game day captain for each contest and earned the team's Offensive Player of the Week honors on two occasions. On the season he threw for 2,819 yards completing 261 passes in 405 attempts. He threw 18 touchdown passes and ran for two touchdowns. Wilbert limited his interceptions to only six, he did not throw an interception for a team record five-consecutive games. While he completed 26-of-40 passes for 261 yards and four touchdowns in the Troy game, he had seven games with more than 250 yards and tallied a career high 403 versus FIU on a career high 51 attempts. His passing efficiency was 134.62 in all games, including back-to-back games against top-five teams (Georgia and Alabama), his Sun Belt Conference passing efficiency was 138.67. Wilbert went into his senior campaign with a new head coach, his third offensive coordinator and a new style of play - one that many assumed he was not suited to play. He did not start the team's first game, but was inserted into the game at the half and never looked back. He used his intelligence to run the new system and to play within his skill set for the betterment of the team. As a senior quarterback Wilbert earned the team's Endurance award, in recognition of his holistic achievement in the classroom, on the playing field, in the weight room, and for his citizenship.
