2009: Recorded his first career sack versus South Carolina, it was the first Owl sack of the 2009 season...played in every game, held the starting spot 10 of the 12 games...following the South Carolina game, he had five tackles versus ULM and set a season- and career-high with six versus Wyoming...recorded 1.5 tackles for a loss in both the ULM and Wyoming games...that same three-game span is when he recorded his sacks, one at USC, 1.5 versus ULM and 0.5 against Wyoming for a total of 20 yards...his sack total of 3 for a loss of 20 tied defensive end Kevin Cyrille's production for a team high.
Motor City Bowl: Traveled with the team and saw action versus CMU.
2008: Played in 11 games...missed Michigan State and Western Kentucky...was part of a line that worked together to get through a rash of injuries that took both starting ends and slowed the tackles...recorded six tackles on the year including two at Texas and two against UAB (a solo and an assist)...added an assist versus ULM and North Texas...also credited with a quarterback hurry versus North Texas.
New Orleans Bowl: Saw action in the program's first bowl appearance and first bowl victory.
2007: Saw action as a true freshman...recorded his first tackles, two, against Oklahoma State...also recorded two against Louisiana-Monroe...ended his first collegiate campaign with seven tackles and nearly half were tackles for a loss, three for a loss of six.
High School: Played for David Mitchell at Wharton High School...as a senior defensive lineman recorded 70 tackles, including eight sacks...credited with two forced fumbles and four recoveries...for his efforts, he earned defensive lineman of the year honors, as well as second-team All-Conference, first-team All-County, and second-team All-State...two-sport athlete (football and wrestling).
