Armando Murillo joined Florida Atlantic University's football staff as the Football Player/Personnel Director in October of 2013. Murillo was was elevated to assistant coach later that same month with a emphasis on the defensive backs.

Murillo, a Tampa native, played two seasons for Nebraska (2007-09). His first season with the Cornhuskers, Murillo was a member of a four-man rotation, but was the only to start all 12 games.

He played his first two seasons at Eastern Arizona Community College. Murillo's freshman season, he was named an All-American by the National Junior College Athletic Association after recording seven interceptions, two of which were returned for a score. In his first two collegiate seasons, Murillo recorded 10 interceptions. Following his collegiate career, the Robinson High School product played two seasons in Canada, first for the Toronto Argonauts and the second for the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. He recorded 53 tackles and two interceptions.
