Question from Dom
Turnovers look high tonight, at half time, we had nine turnovers to the opponents three.
Takes three years to build a program. It seems like we are just giving experience to players that don't build our program, but somebody else's. Why did two of our players leave? I hear you regarding why they are leaving, but if they are worth taking up two of our scholarships, and training all year, why can't we keep them? Now you have 10 scholarship players, or am I mistaken? Is this a rebuilding year again?
Response from Head Coach Rex Walters
Turnovers are a major issue for us right now and we will continue to work on this. Saying all of this, we have played some good basketball. Unfortunately, we have played against some very good teams (KU, BC, Rhode Island, USF, and Cleveland State). I would have liked to have played better at UMKC and Stetson (but we did get a win vs. Stetson). We are a work in progress and have four first year players, playing major minutes for us. We will continue to improve.
We are not rebuilding. However, we are constantly trying to improve and build a better basketball program and team. We need toughness, unselfishness and skill and the 10 scholarship players that are here all have those traits. Can it get better....yes. Will it get better....Yes.
Thank you for your questions, concern and support. I love your passion for FAU Basketball.
