Question from Joe
Is it hard to recruit a big center in the Sunbelt (5-10+)? In your system is a big center not needed or is that something you have been trying to recruit and haven't had any success finding a good one?
Response from Head Coach Rex Walters
Joe,
It is always hard to get players in the 6"10 range. The way that we play makes it even harder. Our post players have to be able to run, pass, shoot, and handle the basketball. We are always looking, but I will also say that I will take hard nosed 6"7 to 6"9 players as well. It is not always how tall you are, but rather how tall you play. We will keep working on post players, but I am happy with our ‘07 class. We got the guys that we wanted and needed. Thanks for the email and keep the questions coming.
