BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic men's basketball team will travel to Bloomington to face the sixth-ranked Indiana Hoosiers on Friday night.
The Owls (5-6) continues its challenging nonconference schedule on when they play the five-time national champion Hoosiers at historic Assembly Hall. FAU assistant Peter Gash served as a graduate assistant at IU under Tom Crean. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m. eastern. Friday's meeting is the first ever between the two schools. FAU is 0-4 all-time against current Big Ten members, losing once each to Iowa, Minnesota, Northwestern and Ohio State.
FAU will try to rebound from a difficult one-point loss to Stetson on Tuesday night. The Hoosiers defeated Mount St. Mary's 93-54 on Wednesday night, bouncing back from a two-point loss to Butler on Saturday.
Senior guard Greg Gantt enters the game 29 points away from becoming the all-time leader iin scoring. Gantt has performed well in games against stiff competition, scoring 18 in the Owls' season opener at #11 North Carolina and 17 against Mississippi State.
