Owls Return to Court With Matchup Against Warner
Dec. 8, 2011 BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic men's basketball team will face Warner in just its second home game of the season on Saturday, starting at 7 p.m. The Owls(3-5) are looking to avoid a three-game losing skid after losing to USF and Kansas prior to taking time off for exams. Saturday's meeting is the third all-time between FAU and Warner, the two teams have met in each of the last two seasons. The Owls took both games, including an 88-58 win last season. Coach Mike Jarvis' team features three players averaging double figures in scoring, led by preseason all-conference selection Greg Gantt at 12.9 points per game. Sophomore wing player Pablo Bertone is second on team at 10.9 points per game and had career highs in points (17), rebounds (12) and blocks (three) in the game at Kansas. Warner (6-2) is an explosive squad that averages 93 points a game and has outscored their opposition by an average of 35.4 points per game. Warner also averaged 45.6 points a game, nearly 18 more than their opponents have averaged this season. Five Royals average double figures in points, led by Malcolm Campbell at 18.9, Campbell is also the team's leading rebounder, pulling down 9.5 a contest.
