GAME #9: Florida Atlantic will be looking to end a four-game losing streak when the Owls face Southland Conference member SE Louisiana Saturday, December 13 at the FAU Arena in Boca Raton. Tip-off is set for at 7 p.m. ET. It will be FAU's final non-conference home game.

THE SERIES: FAU and SLU have met twice, splitting a home-and-home series during the 1995-96 and 1996-97 seasons. Each team won on the road. SLU claimed a 72-69 victory at the FAU Arena on January 6, 1996. FAU responded the next season by winning 76-60 on the Lions' home floor in Hammond, LA.

FLORIDA ATLANTIC: The Owls (3-5) will be playing at home for the first time since beating UMKC 77-59 at the FAU Arena back on November 22. FAU has since lost four-straight. Saturday's game will be the last chance FAU fans will get see the Owls in Boca Raton until January 1 when FAU plays South Alabama. First-year head coach Mike Jarvis got FAU off to a 3-1 start, which included a preseason NIT victory over Santa Clara. Senior guard Paul Graham III, FAU's leading scorer (13.4 ppg), will be honored before Saturday's game for becoming the 7th-player in school history to score 1,000 points. Sophomore's G/F Xavier Perkins and F/C Brett Royster are enjoying break-out seasons. They are the team's top two rebounders and both shoot 50% from the field. The pair are the only players to have started in every game.

SE LOUISIANA: The Lions are 4-3, returning three starters from its 17-13 team a year ago. SLU took Arkansas into overtime in their season-opener and Texas Tech had to rally to overcome a first-half deficit to beat the Lions 74-63 in Lubbock. Thanks to a 108-51 victory over Southern-New Orleans Saturday in Hammond, SLU upped its scoring average to 84.9 points per game which ranks 10th in the NCAA. They shoot 40% as a team from 3-point range. Leading scorer 6-foot-5 G/F Kevyn Green (21.4 ppg) has made 26-of-50 from beyond the 3-point arc. Green ranks in the top 20 nationally in a number of offensive categories, including 3-pointers per game (3.7). Four players average double-figures in scoring, including junior C Patrick Sullivan (10.1 ppg) who also leads the team in blocks (17) and rebounds (8.0 rpg).
