BOCA RATON, Fla. -  The Florida Atlantic University men’s basketball team will host Ave Maria and Bethune-Cookman in a pair of games this week.

 

Last Week: FAU (2-3) played at the Gulf Coast Showcase in Estero, Florida last week. The Owls lost to Towson 76-52 on Monday, defeated NIU 77-67 on Tuesday and fell 71-60 to Missouri State on Wednesday. Gerdarius Troutman led the Owls in scoring, averaging 12.0 points and shooting nearly 53 percent from behind the three-point arc. Ronald Delph had one of his best weeks at the tournament, posting averages of 11.7 points and 10 rebounds per contest.

Owls Hold Off Pesky Ave Maria Squad 72-59
The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team returned to FAU Arena and had to contend with a tenacious Ave Maria squad on Thursday night, before a second half run propelled the Owls to a 72-59.

 

History: The Owls have won all three meetings with the Gyrenes (1-6), with the teams having played in three of the last four seasons. FAU and Bethune-Cookman split their only two previous encounters, the most recent one coming on Nov. 24, 1999.

Fans who attend Saturday's C-USA Championship Game at FAU Stadium can show their ticket stub at the box office and get a general admission ticket to the Bethune-Cookman game for $5.
