BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic men's basketball team will open its conference schedule this week when both South Alabama and Arkansas State come to The Burrow.
The Owls (2-3) went just 7-9 in Sun Belt play last season, but will play 20 conference games this weekend after the Sun Belt revamped its conference schedule after Denver's departure. South Alabama (2-3) opened the season with an upset victory of Florida State, but will come to Boca Raton on a three-game losing streak.

Men's Hoops Lose to Jaguars 79-76 in OT
The Florida Atlantic men's basketball team's hopes for a bye in the first round of the Sun Belt Tournament were dealt a fatal blow with a 79-76 loss to South Alabama on Thursday.

USA won both of last season's meetings, including a 79-76 overtime win in Boca. Preseason First Team All-Sun Belt selection had 31 points and 11 rebounds in his last game, a 75-73 loss to Georgia State. FAU guard Greg Gantt averaged 17 points in two meetings with South Alabama last season.
