Men's Basketball Signs Three
Nov. 15, 2017

BOCA RATON, Fla. -  Florida Atlantic University Head Men’s Basketball Coach Michael Curry got the 2018 signing class off to a strong start with the signings of Santiago Bruera, Emanuel Littles, and Darnell Butler Jr. during the early signing period.

Coach Curry is looking forward to the trio’s arrival on campus.

“Being able to bring in three exciting and talented players that can contribute immediately gives this class a strong foundation to help us next season,” he said.

Bruera is a powerful inside force at 6-10 and 250 pounds. Bruera participated in the NBA's Basketball Without Borders, and was also a member of the under-19 Argentinian National Team that competed in the 2017 World Championships. Bruera is currently in prep school at DME academy in Daytona Beach, Florida.

“Adding Santiago's skill set and size will allow him to be a post presence immediately at both forward and center,” said Curry.

Littles is a 6-7, 210-pound combo forward with a lot of promise. He has led Lanett High School in Lanett, Alabama, to back-to-back state championships while averaging 19.2 points per game and 14.2 rebounds.

Said Curry, “Littles is a long, athletic player that can play both forward positions and is one to the top rebounders in the state of Alabama.”

Butler is a guard from Seminole Community College in Oklahoma, and adds experience and scoring ability. The 6-4, 210-pounder averaged 11.9 points per game as a freshman and shot 43.3% from 3-point range.

Of Butler, Coach Curry said, “His combination of size and versatility allows him to play all three perimeter positions. Darnell's ability to knock down outside shots adds a legitimate 3-point shooter that can defend and rebound from the guard position.”
