BOCA RATON, FL - Students from Coconut Palm Elementary will help Florida Atlantic University begin the basketball regular season on Friday night.

Head men's basketball coach Mike Jarvis spoke to students at the school earlier in the fall stressing the importance of both academics and behavior. CPE students and their families were given the opportunity to purchase discount tickets to the game in advance. Students will also be given popcorn and soda.

Additionally, there will be tables set up the lobby of the arena before the game, where students will be displaying information and artwork. The CPE choir will sing the pregame national anthem and the CPE students will also participate in a short basketball game at halftime of the men's game. The top reader in each class will also have their name displayed on the video board.

Friday's doubleheader will start at 5 p.m. when the women take on Webber International, followed by the men playing Florida Tech 30 minutes following the completion of the women's game.
