Second Half Surge Pushes Owls Past USF, 78-62
Jailyn Ingram had 16 points and eight rebounds and Florida Atlantic overcame a slow start on Tuesday night to beat South Florida 78-62. Ronald Delph added 14 points and 11 rebounds and Gerdarius Troutman scored 15 with four 3-pointers. FAU (2-3) never trailed after taking a 26-25 lead during an 11-0, first-half run. South Florida (2-2) tied it twice early in the second half, but the Owls led by double digits for the final 13:09. The Owls went scoreless for over six minutes and trailed by 10 in the early part of the first half. Troutman broke the spell with a 3-pointer that cut the deficit to 19-12 and FAU steadily took control from there.
