BOCA RATON, FL - Former Florida Atlantic University shooting guard Greg Gantt was selected by the Austin Toros in the third round of the NBA Development League (D-League) Draft on Friday.
Gantt, who is FAU's all-time leading scorer, was selected with the seventh pick in the round. In addition to his 1,972 points, the Gainesville, FL native also holds FAU career records for three pointers made (287), field goals made (717), and holds season records for points scored (677) and three pointers made by a freshman (85). Gantt finished the 2012-13 season ranked 11th nationally at 21.2 points per game.
"I'm thankful to the Toros for giving me an opportunity and I look forward to continuing my basketball career," said Gantt.
The NBA D-League is the official minor league of the NBA. The Toros are the affiliate of the four-time NBA champion San Antonio Spurs. Former Western Kentucky head coach Ken McDonald was recently named the team's head coach. The Toros open their season on Nov. 22, when they play at the Santa Cruz Warriors.
