Football, Men's Basketball to be Broadcast Throughout South Florida

Boca Raton, FL - Florida Atlantic University's athletic department has announced its football and men's basketball games will be broadcast throughout South Florida for the 2012-13 athletic season. The first broadcast event will be the football team's season opener on Friday, August 31, against Wagner College, starting at 8 p.m. at the new on-campus stadium.

ESPN760 will serve as the flagship station for the Owls' football and men's basketball broadcasts. All football games will also be broadcast on station WMEN640AM Sports Talk in Broward County. The games will also be streamed on www.fausports.com.

ESPN760 will produce coaches shows featuring first-year Head Football Coach Carl Pelini and veteran Men's Basketball Coach Mike Jarvis. The first FAU Sportspage coaches' show, featuring Pelini, will be broadcast on Tuesday, September 4, from 6-7 p.m. at Duffy's Sports Grill, 401 North Federal Highway in Deerfield Beach.

The FAU Sportspage coaches' show, featuring Jarvis, will be held at Hooters, 2240 Northwest 19th Street in Boca Raton.

Ken LaVicka will handle play-by-play broadcasting and host the coaches' shows. Former FAU football player and current WPTV Sports Anchor Jason Pugh will join him in the football booth.

Each football broadcast will include a one-hour pregame show before kickoff. The station will also produce a thirty-minute postgame show following the conclusion of each game.
