Men's Basketball Releases 2010-11 Schedule

BOCA RATON, FL - Florida Atlantic University men's basketball head coach Mike Jarvis has released the team's 2010-11 schedule. "It's a schedule that has more of the programs that are at the level we are trying to get to," said Jarvis. "It will help us continue to move towards our goal of building a successful basketball program." The team will host Northwood and Lynn in exhibition games, before heading to Portland, Oregon over Veterans' Day weekend to participate in the MTE Classic, with games against Portland, Wisconsin-Milwaukee and UC-Davis. Warner Southern will be the Owls' opponent in their regular season home opener on Wednesday, November 17, followed by a home game against American on Saturday, November 20. FAU men's basketball assistant coach Matt McCall will return to his alma mater when the team travels to Gainesville to face the University of Florida on Tuesday, November 23. Trips to George Mason (Saturday, November 27) and Mississippi State (Tuesday, November 30) wrap up the three game road trip, before the Owls return home to host instate rival USF on Saturday, December 4. A season-long five game road trip including games at Hofstra University, Siena College and DePaul University, as well as games at Sun Belt opponents Troy University and ULM will last most of the month of December, before the team closes out 2010 by hosting Manhattan on Thursday, December 30. A home game against Florida Memorial on Monday, January 3, 2011 will wrap up the nonconference schedule.
The SBC schedule begins in earnest in January. The Owls will travel to the defending SBC tournament champion North Texas on Thursday, February 3, 2011 and host rival FIU on Saturday, February 5, 2011.
