BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University head men's basketball coach Michael Curry announced that Maceo Baston II (Birmingham, MI/Detroit Country Day) has signed a National Letter of Intent.

Baston, a 6-5 swingman, helped the Yellowjackets to a Michigan Class B State Championship as a junior. He is the son of Maceo Baston, a former University of Michigan standout, who played in the NBA as well as overseas.

In Baston's senior year, DCD advanced to the Class B Regional Finals behind his 20-point effort. The Yellowjackets fell just short of returning to the state Final Four. He will join FAU for the 2014-15 academic year.

"Maceo is athletic, a good shooter and a great student," said FAU Head Men's Basketball coach Michael Curry. "He can come in and compete right away. He's the kind of kid who can represent the school and the program well both on and off the court."
