BOCA RATON, FL - The National Association of Basketball Coaches has named Florida Atlantic guard Greg Gantt to the All District-24 Second Team, the organization announced Tuesday.
Gantt, a freshman from Gainesville, FL was FAU's leading scorer was the leading freshman scorer in the conference, averaging 15.6 points per game. Gantt also broke the school record for three-pointers made by a freshman with 85.
Gantt was named Third-Team All-Sun Belt and led all conference players in three-pointers made per game (2.9) and three-point percentage (39.0). He helped the Owls to an eight-win improvement over the previous season and recorded nine 20+ point games on the year, including a career-high 29 points versus UALR.
"I am really happy for Greg and I am really pleased that his performance this season was recognized and hopefully this will motivate him to perform even better in the future," said head men's basketball coach Mike Jarvis.
NABC District 24 is composed entirely of schools from the Sun Belt Conference and the teams were voted on by NABC members from around the nation. Gantt is now eligible for the State Farm All-America Team, to be announced April 3 in Indianapolis as part of the Final Four.
