BOCA RATON, FL - Adding to another season of incredible accomplishments, the Florida Atlantic men's basketball team learned that it will travel to face Miami as part of the postseason NIT. Tickets can be purchased by clicking here.
The Owls will play the Hurricanes on Wednesday night at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN3.com. Live audio of the game will be available at www.fausports.com.
"It's a great opportunity to play a good opponent that we have played before, without having to get on a plane to do it," said Florida Atlantic head men's basketball coach Mike Jarvis.
The team was recognized for all of their accomplishments at a gathering held in the Founders' Lounge of the Tom Oxley Athletic Center, joined by a crowd of approximately 150 people.
FAU clinched just the second postseason berth in school history by winning the Sun Belt regular season title. It is the 15th postseason appearance for Mike Jarvis as a head coach and his sixth in the NIT. FAU becomes the fourth different school that he has led to tournament play.

The FAU coaching staff has a combined career postseason record of 46-28 (.622) including 2 NCAA championships and 2 NIT championships in 32 total appearances.
Mike Jarvis becomes the 10th current FAU coach to advance the Owls in postseason play.

Two wins over BCS schools in the same season (11/30 at Mississippi St. and 12/4 over USF)
First conference player of the week in nearly three seasons (Raymond Taylor 12/21)
Program high RPI (#34)
Best conference start in school history (8-0)
Eight game winning streak (T-longest in school history, longest at Division I level)
1st nationally televised home game in school history (1/22 vs. UALR)
Most Sun Belt wins in a season (13)
T-Most wins in a season (21) and most at Division I level.
Tickets for the 2011 NIT featuring Florida Atlantic and Miami begin at $10. Tickets can be purchased in person, but it is suggested to purchase in advance by calling 1-800-Go-Canes or on-line via Ticketmaster.com.
FAU Athletics is also offering a transportation package. Interested fans need to make a reservation by calling 561-297-0014. The package will include roundtrip transportation and a ticket. The bus will depart from the Tom Oxley Center at 5 p.m. and will return at the conclusion of the contest. Fans need to reserve a spot as it will be on a first come, first serve basis. The cost for the roundtrip package is $25/$40 depending on your seating choice.
If not purchasing the transportation package, please request your seat to be located in the FAU section at the time of the purchase to assure you are cheering with the Owls. The section behind the FAU bench is sections 120 - 122. FAU Marching Owls will be in 114.
