The Florida Atlantic men's basketball team will host rival FIU in final home game of the season on Saturday night.
FIU won the first encounter this season 84-65 back on February 7 in Miami. It was the second consecutive game decided by double-digits after four-straight meetings were within three points. The Owls will be looking to defeat the Panthers in their final scheduled meetings as members of the Sun Belt Conference. Both teams will be moving to Conference USA next season.
Saturday's game could go a long way towards determining the Owls' seeding for the Sun Belt Tournament. FAU (13-17, 8-11 Sun Belt) entered the final week of action as the number seven seed, but could end up as high as the no. 5 seed, which would grant them a bye on the first day of action in Hot Springs, AR.
Greg Gantt, Jordan McCoy and Andre Mattison will be honored pregame as they prepare to take the court for their final home game. Saturday is also the annual "Bury the Burrow in Red" game and Student Government will hand out 1,000 red t-shirts.
Tip-off is set at 7 p.m, but fans are encouraged to arrive early. Live stats and live audio will be available via the basketball schedule page.
