THURSDAY'S GAME: FAU (14-13, 10-6 Sun Belt) returns home for the first
time since a 77-74 win over Louisiana-Lafayette on Feb. 11 for a game
against East Division foe Western Kentucky in a game that will go a long
way in determining seeding for the upcoming conference tournament.
TV/RADIO/INTERNET: All of FAU's games this season (home and away) air on live commercial radio ESPN - 760 AM with audio links available on FAU's official athletics website FAUSPORTS.com. Ken LaVicka (play-byplay) will call the game for ESPN760. The game will also be available on Fox College Sports via the Hilltopper Satellite Sports Network. Randy Lee and Hall Schmitt will call the game for FCS.
Western Kentucky: The Hilltoppers (17-12, 10-6 Sun Belt) defeated Arkansas State 78-76 in overtime on Saturday night. Reigning Sun Belt Player of the Week A.J. Slaughter led WKU with 21 points on the night. The win was the fourth in a row and fifth in six games for WKU.
LAST TIME OUT: FAU lost its last road game of the regular season in Troy 86-80 on Saturday night. Shavar Richardson scored a career-high 31 points in the game, but the Owls were unable to overcome 64.2 percent shooting by the Trojans.
THE SERIES: Western Kentucky has won seven of the eight meetings between the two schools, FAU's only win in the series came in Bowling Green, Kentucky on Valentine's Day, 2007. WKU won this season's first meeting 79-72 at E.A. Diddle Arena. A.J. Slaughter (25 points) and Steffphon Pettigrew (21) paced the Hilltoppers. Greg Gantt had 23 points to lead FAU.
