FAU's Monroe Garners National Attention

BOCA RATON, FL - Carlos Monroe of the Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team has garnered his second weekly award in as many days, this time earning a national spot light with the Mid-Major Player of the Week award.

The sophomore was named Sun Belt Conference Player of the Week on Monday for his efforts during a pair of Owl wins over Western Kentucky and New Orleans.

The Philadelphia native averaged 28 points and 13 rebounds in wins over Western

Kentucky and New Orleans. Monroe poured in 26 points, including 16 of FAU's first 21, to help the Owls to a 78-73 win at Western Kentucky. He finished with 26 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

Against New Orleans he tallied 30 points and pulled down 14 rebounds, helping FAU cruise to a 98-77 win. Monroe shot 76% from the field for the week.
