BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team will host Tulsa and North Texas in games this week. Tulsa visits FAU Arena on Thursday, followed by North Texas on Saturday.
The Owls (10-16, 5-6 C-USA) split their two games in Texas last week, defeating UTEP 71-69 on a three-pointer by Marquan Botley with 2.2 seconds left before falling to UTSA 66-56 last Saturday. FAU entered the week tied for eighth place in the conference standings, but has lost to FIU and Charlotte, the other two teams with 5-6 C-USA records.
Tulsa (13-12, 8-2) comes to Boca Raton on a three-game winning streak. It will be the first ever meeting between the two teams, but the Golden Hurricane coaching staff features a couple of familiar faces. Assistant Coach Wendell Moore and Director of Basketball Operations Justin Bauman served in similar positions at FAU from 2006-08.
North Texas (12-13, 3-8) returns to The Burrow on Saturday. The Mean Green, like FAU, is in their first season in Conference USA, after moving over from the Sun Belt. North Texas and the Owls will meet for the eighth season in a row. The Owls lost last season's only game between the two teams, 66-57 in overtime. It was the third meeting in a row that went to overtime.
Both games will tipoff at 7 p.m. and live video and live stats will be available at fausports.com. For tickets, contact the FAU Ticket Office at 1-866-FAU-OWLS or log on to FAUTix.com.
