BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team returns home this week after sweeping its three-game road trip to FIU, Charlotte and Old Dominion. FAU is tied with UTEP for longest winning streak in the conference. The Owls host North Texas at 7 p.m. on Thursday night before Rice comes to Boca Raton on Saturday, which is also set for a 7 p.m. tip.
Last Week: The Owls (8-13, 4-6 C-USA) overcame double-digit second half deficits in both games last week. FAU trailed by 11 against Charlotte on Thursday before rallying to win 77-75. On Saturday, the Owls were down 12 to ODU with 5:22 remaining, but fought back to take a 65-61 victory. Sophomore Justin Massey averaged 14.5 points in the two contests.
History: North Texas has won 10 of the 13 all-time meetings with FAU. The Mean Green (6-16, 0-10 C-USA) currently hold a five-game winning streak over the Owls, going back to 2012 when both schools were members of the Sun Belt Conference. Rice holds a 2-1 edge over FAU, taking the lead with a 90-85 victory last season in Houston.
