CHICAGO, IL - The Florida Atlantic men's basketball team ended its five game road trip with a 71-62 loss to DePaul on Wednesday.

The Blue Demons (6-6) got of the gate early, building a nine-point lead at the midway point of the first half. The lead would balloon to 19 before a modest Owl rally cut the lead to 11. However, DePaul would hit a three-pointer at the buzzer to send FAU to the locker room down 14, 42-28.

The Owls (8-6) were still behind 14, 52-38, at the 14:23 mark of the second half, when they had a 20-9 run over the next 11 minutes to pull within three at 61-58. Despite the scoring spree, FAU was unable to get any closer to the Blue Demons. Greg Gantt led FAU with 20 points and eight rebounds, Dennis Mavin (12 points, four rebounds) and Andre Mattison (eight points, six rebounds) both had quality games off of the bench.

The Owls end their road trip 3-2 and will take some time off for the holidays before returning to Boca Raton to host Manhattan in a rematch from last season on December 30. Live audio of the game will be available at www.fausports.com.
