ATHENS, GA - An 18-3 second half run proved the difference as the Florida Atlantic men's basketball team lost to Georgia 77-60 on Wednesday night.
FAU led by as many as nine in the first half before the Bulldogs tied the score at 29 shortly before halftime. Justin Davis was fouled at the buzzer and hit one of two free throws to send the Owls to the locker room with a 30-29 lead.
The Owls trailed by three, 44-41 with less than 12 minutes remaining when Georgia went on their decisive run. Trey Thompkins led all scorers with 35 points. Raymond Taylor and Shavar Richardson both scored a dozen to lead the Owls. Greg Gantt added 10.
FAU will wrap up their five game road trip on Sunday when they take on Maryland. The game will start at 2 p.m.
