BOCA RATON, FL - Sophomore forward Kore White had 11 points and nine rebounds on Saturday, just missing a double-double in the Florida Atlantic men's basketball team's 66-51 loss to George Mason on Saturday night.
FAU found themselves down by double-digits early in the game, trailing 17-7 less than six minutes into the contest. The Owls (3-4) got to within five at 19-14, but a 6-0 Patriot run put the margin back to 11. The lead was still 11 as the teams headed to the break.
After George Mason (4-2) scored the first bucket of the first half, FAU scored four points in a row to cut the back down to single digits at 36-27. The Patriots answered with four consecutive points of their own and the lead never fell below 10 the rest of the game.
Greg Gantt (15 points) was the only other Owl in double figures as FAU dropped its third game in a row. FAU travels to Mississippi State on Tuesday. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. eastern and the game will be carried live on www.fausports.com and live video will be available at mstateathletics.com.
