TAMPA, FL - The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team lost to USF 78-58 on Friday.
The Owls trailed by 12 with 5:30 left in the first half, when freshmen Greg Gantt and Raymond Taylor collaborated on a 9-0 run to close the gap to two. USF scored the last four points of the half to take a 35-29 lead to the break.
Four straight points by Brett Royster had FAU within three at 39-36 early in the second half when the Bulls scored 19 unanswered points to put the game out of reach.
Gantt scored a career-high 19 for the Owls. Jordan McCoy added four points and eight rebounds in his first start. FAU finishes its four game road trip 1-3. The Owls return home on Monday night to face Albany. The game is scheduled for a 7 p.m. start.
