DETROIT, MI - The Florida Atlantic University men's basketball team lost to Detroit 77-44 on Friday night. The game was a part of the 2K Sports Classic.
The Owls (1-4) were sloppy from the very beginning of the game, committing 11 first half turnovers. Despite that, a Dragan Sekelja dunk had FAU trailing by only a dozen, 32-20, at the intermission.
Detroit (3-2) opened the second half with a 21-8 run that effectively ended any hopes of an Owl comeback. Pablo Bertone (10) was the only FAU player to score in double figures. Kelvin Penn scored six points and grabbed five rebounds off of the bench.
FAU continues action in the 2K Sports Classic on Saturday, when they play Stony Brook at 3 p.m. on Saturday. Live audio of the game will be available exclusively at www.fausports.com.
