BOCA RATON, FL - The backcourt combination of Greg Gantt and Stefan Moody exploded for 57 points in the Florida Atlantic men's basketball team's 84-78 win over Western Kentucky on Thursday night.

The game featured six ties and five lead changes, all of which came in the first half. The final tie came at 28-28 with 6:34 left on the clock. FAU scored the next eight points of the game and never trailed again. The Owls (12-15, 7-9 Sun Belt) led 41-34 at the half and shot 65.4 percent from the floor in the period. Gantt (7-10) and Moody (4-5) shot a combined 73.3 percent in the first 20 minutes.

FAU's advantage got as high as 15 in the second half, but the Hilltoppers (13-13, 7-8) were determined to stay in the game and eventually scraped back to within five, but couldn't get any closer. Gantt (31) had his second game of at least that many this season and Moody's 26 points were a career high.

The Owls' 59.1 overall shooting percentage was a season best. The victory also gave FAU a season sweep of the Hilltoppers, the first time ever that has happened. WKU was the only Eastern Division opponent FAU had never beaten twice in the same season. It happened in the last season before the Owls move to Conference USA.

Pablo Bertone (12) gave FAU three players in double figures and he also had a career high seven assists and six rebounds. The Owls will travel to Lafayette, LA to play the Ragin' Cajuns on Saturday. Tip-off is set for 8:15 p.m. eastern time.
