Florida Atlantic University picked up its second consecutive win in conference play on Saturday evening with an 84-67 win over Lipscomb University. Mike Bell powered the Owls with 22 points and 14 rebounds to avenge a two-point loss to the Bisons last Sunday.

FAU (6-13, 6-6 A-Sun) trailed early in the contest and was down by as many as seven with 10:29 in the half at 24-17. The team then made an eleven point run to takes its first lead of the contest behind six points from Bell (Raleigh, NC) and five from Tywain McTyer (Las Vegas, NV).

The Owls never trailed for the remainder of the game and pushed the lead to 21 points with less than one minute remaining.

"They have the best individual pieces in the league," stated Lipscomb head coach Scott Sanderson. "That team is big and strong at every spot."

The Bisons were held to 28 percent shooting in the second half and were 2-for-12 behind the arc. The Owls also controlled the boards pulling down 44 rebounds to Lipscomb's 30.

The third leading scorer for the Bisons, Gary Durant, who entered the game averaging 9.5 points per game, was held scoreless in the contest as Lipscomb falls to 10-8, 4-5 A-Sun.

Four players reached double-digits for FAU as Quinton Young scored 19 followed by Derrick Simmons' career-high 12 and Tywain McTyer's 10 points.

FAU returns to action on Monday against Belmont in FAU Gym at 7 pm. The Owls defeated the Bruins by eight points last Tuesday and look to extended their winning streak to three.
