BOWLING GREEN, KY - The Florida Atlantic men's basketball team fell to Western Kentucky 79-72 on Thursday night, despite career-highs in both points (13) and rebounds (eight) by freshman Jordan McCoy.
The Owls (7-10, 3-3 Sun Belt) made a run late in the first half to take a one point lead into the break, 34-33. FAU shot 54 percent from the floor in the first half. WKU made several runs in the second half, looking to break the game open, but each time, FAU rallied back within striking distance.
WKU sealed the victory with a Jeremy Evans layup with 30 seconds remaining. "I really feel good about the guys. I like their effort, their attitude and their character," said head coach Mike Jarvis after the game.
FAU continues its road trip on Saturday when it travels to Middle Tennessee State to take on the Blue Raiders.
