MACON, GA - Raheim Brown and Daryl Dingle each scored 20 points to lead Florida Atlantic University to a 94-73 victory over host Mercer University Thursday night in Macon, GA. The win was FAU's third straight and improved the Owls to 9-5 overall and 6-2 in the Atlantic Sun Conference. FAU tied a team record with 27 assists while five players finished in double figures.

Jeff Cowans finished with 17 points, including 5-of-7 from beyond the arc. Andre Garner had 15 while Nick Neumann had 10 off the bench. Earnest Crumbley dished out a career-high 10 assists while Anthony Slater had five.

"It was a very satisfying win," said FAU head coach Sidney Green. "I saw these kids accomplish things I knew they would accomplish eventually. From the start of the game, the guys were focused."

FAU raced out to a 51-44 halftime lead behind 61 percent shooting. Mercer (3-12, 1-5 A-Sun) could only manage to close the gap to six points with 15:45 to play before FAU seized control of the game. A 21-7 run over the next 8:37 gave the Owls an 80-60 advantage with 7:08 to play. FAU would lead by as many as 27 points.

For the game, the Owls outshot Mercer 56 percent to 44 percent. That included 64 percent (9-of-14) from beyond the arc. FAU committed a season-low nine turnovers compared to Mercer's 19. On the boards, FAU grabbed 33 rebounds while Mercer managed 31.

The victory already surpasses FAU's total number of regular season A-Sun victories of a year ago. It also pulled FAU to within one-half game of first place in the conference.
