BOCA RATON, FL - The Florida Atlantic men's basketball team resumes Sun Belt play with a 75-70 win over Louisiana on Thursday night.

The Ragin' Cajuns (6-10, 2-3 Sun Belt) jumped out to a quick 7-3 lead as the Owls struggled to find their shooting touch early. FAU (8-8, 3-2) eventually found its rhythm and both teams ended the first half shooting fifty percent from the field, but the Owls hit five three-pointers and that, along with nine UL turnovers helped FAU take a 39-27 halftime lead.

UL narrowed the lead to four a couple of times in the second half, but could never completely erase the margin. FAU, who has managed to diversify its attack in the last few games, got 12 points from Pablo Bertone, 16 points and a career high nine rebounds from Stefan Moody in addition to 23 points from Greg Gantt, who entered the night fifth in the country in scoring at 22.3 points per game.

Cavon Baker and Dragan Sekelja played well in reserve roles, helping the Owls outscore UL off the bench 15-7. It is the first time in seven games that FAU's bench players outscored their opponents'.

The Owls will take some time off before returning the court on Thursday, January 10 when they play at Middle Tennessee. Game time is set for 8 p.m. eastern and live audio of the game will be available at www.fausports.com.
