BOCA RATON, Fla. – Devorious Brown had career highs of 12 points and seven rebounds, but it was not enough as the Florida Atlantic University men’s basketball team lost to Marshall 89-72 on Monday night. FAU now stands at 4-9 on the season and 0-2 in Conference USA play.

Adonis Filer made a basket to cut FAU’s deficit to 53-44 with 15:03 to go in the game. The Thundering Herd answered with a 17-9 run to push the margin to 17 and the lead remained at least that much the rest of the way.
- Justin Massey led the Owls with 16 points to go along with five rebounds.
- Adonis Filer had seven points, seven rebounds and four assists.
- Marshall’s Ryan Taylor led all players with 31 points and 13 rebounds.
- The Thundering Herd went 12-of-26 (46.2%) from behind the three-point line, while the Owls made only three of their 17 attempts (17.6%).
