Rachel Fineberg was named the Director of Operations & Player Development for the Florida Atlantic University men's basketball program in August of 2016. Fineberg initially came to FAU in January of 2015 as the Associate Director for the Student-Athlete Center for Academic Excellence. In this role, she was responsible for assisting with the daily management of the center and developing all facets of a comprehensive academic support and life skills program, in addition to serving as an academic counselor to the men's basketball program.
Fineberg has more than a decade of experience in athletic academic support and student-athlete development. Prior to arriving at FAU, she served as an Assistant Director at the University of Delaware, working with the men's basketball, baseball and softball programs and coordinating student-athlete development programming. She has also held positions at Florida State University as the Assistant Director of Educational Services, where she worked with their football program, and Georgia State University as a Student-Athlete Development Advisor and Tutorial Coordinator. Fineberg is an active member of the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletics, serving as the current Chair-Elect for the Membership Committee and completing the Professional Development Institute for Leaders/Managers in 2014.
A native of State College, PA, Fineberg began her career as a mathematics teacher and has earned degrees from Penn State University and the University of Tennessee.
