Abraham, a redshirt senior from Miami, and Clemente, a Pompano Beach native and redshirt junior, each sat out 2016 but returned to be key members of last year’s Owls. For Abraham, who came to FAU in the fall of 2013, it will be his fifth year with the program. Clemente will be a fourth-year member of the squad, and the duo brings experience beyond their years.
“I am excited to announce that Kevin Abraham and Weston Clemente will be our captains for the 2018 season,” said Head Coach John McCormack. “Both of these guys embody FAU baseball and what it stands for. They are high-character gentlemen that I am proud to coach, they have the respect of their teammates and will be invaluable this season.”
The team just wrapped their preseason slate with the annual Fall World Series and Iron Owl competitions. They will gather back together in late January for the official start of spring practice, and 2018 Opening Night is Friday, Feb. 16 versus George Washington at FAU Baseball Stadium.
