Mike Albaladejo sits atop the 2010 Iron Owl standings with 482 points

BOCA RATON, FL - Mike Albaladejo continues to lead the Iron Owl competition after the 10th event, an obstacle course, was held yesterday. Albaladejo has 482 total points after scoring 10 during the most recent obstable course event.
Last year's champion, senior pitcher Lou Morey, is still hodling firm in second place. Morey has 462 total points after tallying 30 during yesterday's obstacle course event.
The award indentifies the strongest Owl baseball player - both mentally and physically. A series of events will be held throughout the fall season that will test each student-athletes' physical strength, knowledge of the game and academic performance.
Each event and category will be graded and a running total of each player's rank is kept by the FAU coaching staff.
The `Iron Owl' competition was debuted prior to the 2009 preseason. Its goal is the encouragement of team camaraderie, while at the same time making sure each individual player understands what is like to compete on a daily basis. It is our aim that each player reaches their highest-potential in the weight room, on the field and in the classroom.
This year's winner will be offically crowned during the Owls 2010 home opener.
