Brad Peacock signed a National Letter of Intent to play baseball at Florida Atlantic University for the 2007 season. The right-handed pitcher from Palm Beach Central High School becomes the ninth player to commit to the Owls in the early signing period.
A right-handed pitcher from Wellington, FL, Peacock just started working off of the mound this summer. A former infielder and Golden Glove recipient at Palm Beach Central, he spent the summer playing for former FAU assistant coach Scott Benedict with the Georgia Stars and then played for Hammer Time. He started working out on the mound and recruiting coordinator John McCormack noticed the right-hander.
"As a former infielder he has just started pitching," said McCormack. "Brad has only scratched the surface of his pitching ability. He has a chance to be a dominant pitcher at FAU. It will be exciting to watch him grow. I look for great things from Brad."
While playing for Hammer Time, he played with fellow signee Ryan Cheatham from Wellington High School.
The new recruits will join Florida Atlantic University as it begins its journey in the Sun Belt Conference beginning in 2006-07.
