Offense Shines in Second Game of Fall World Series

Boca Raton, FL - A day after managing two runs, the Florida Atlantic University baseball players connected on four home runs in the second game of the Fall World Series intra-squad scrimmage on Thursday at the FAU Baseball Stadium, 777 Glades Road on the Boca Raton campus. The series concludes on Friday, November 9, at 2:20 p.m.

Team Billings, coached by Assistant Coach Rich Billings picked up its second straight victory with an 11-10 triumph. The team grabbed the early momentum with a three-run first inning. Run-scoring singles by junior outfielder Tyler Rocklein, sophomore infielder Ricky Santiago and freshman infielder Brendon Sanger provided the team's offensive punch.

There was also firepower in the second inning. Freshman infielder Billy Endris connected on a three-run home run for Team Hart. Then, freshman outfielder Gabriel Aurrecoechea hit a two-run home run, and Rocklein and Santiago had their second RBIs of the give Team Billings a 7-3 advantage.

Team Hart, coached by Assistant Coach Dickie Hart, would attempt a rally when senior first baseman Mark Nelson hit a two-run home run. The blast was his fourth hit of the series and brought the team within two runs, at 7-5.

However, Team Billings would pull away after Morales connected on third-inning home run that pushed the lead to 9-5.

Friday's Fall World Series game will conclude the Owls' fall practice session. The game is free and open to the public.

FAU won its second Sun Belt Conference championship in the last three seasons in 2012.
