Nov. 7, 2017

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Florida Atlantic University baseball’s three-day preseason extravaganza and annual tradition, the 2017 Fall World Series, begins on Wednesday afternoon and will crown a champion on Friday.

Assistant Coaches Greg Mamula and Brett Schneider will square off with each employing half of the Owls’ roster, pitting the aptly-named Mamula’s Marauders against the similarly apropos Schneider’s Slammers. Wednesday’s game will have a 2 p.m. first pitch, with Mamula trotting out sophomore righthander Nick Prather to start, against redshirt freshman righthander Chris Moore from Schneider’s side.

Thursday will also see a 2 p.m. start, as newcomer Vince Coletti, a righthanded junior, going for the Marauders against fellow junior righthander Kyle Marman for the Slammers. Friday’s finale will begin at 11 a.m., with third-day starters scheduled to be Jake Miednik, a senior southpaw (Marauders) and Blake Sanderson, a redshirt junior righty (Slammers).
