BOCA RATON, Fla. - Florida Atlantic University baseball fans can get their first look at this year's team as the Owls host the Ontario Blue Jays on Wednesday evening at the FAU Baseball Stadium. First pitch is scheduled for 5 p.m. and admission is free.
The Blue Jays are the top amateur baseball program in Canada and tour the United States to compete against universities around the country. The goal of the program is to develop 18-and-under players to help them obtain collegiate or professional baseball opportunities.
Ontario has played at fellow Florida schools this week, including Florida State and Florida Gulf Coast.
The Owls won 42 games and the Sun Belt Conference Championship in 2013 and will venture into Conference USA in 2014. FAU's first regular-season game is slated for Feb. 15 when the Owls host Notre Dame in a three-game series.
