Andrew Archer struck out 27 for the Pompano Beach Clippers

Boca Raton, Fla. -- Florida Atlantic University rising senior Andrew Archer was named the MVP of the South Florida Collegiate League after a dominating season on the mound. The right-handed pitcher struck out an impressive 27 batters and did not allow a single earned run in his 20.1 innings of work for the Pompano Beach Clippers.
His 3-0 record and five saves on the year included a pair of saves in the playoffs and a victory in the SFCBL Championship game.
"Being named MVP of the League is a great honor for Andrew," FAU Head Coach John McCormack said. "He had a great summer and we are very proud of his accomplishment."
Archer dealt a streak midway through the season in which he struck out 11 batters while allowing only one hit over four appearances.
The Davie, Fla. Native gave up only 11 hits and held his opponents to a .167 batting average in his 15 appearances.
