BOCA RATON, Fla. - A season best 11-game winning streak and a Sun Belt Tournament title has catapulted the Florida Atlantic University baseball team into the national rankings for the second time this season. The Owls are ranked 23rd by Baseball America in its final regular season poll, released on Monday, May 27.

FAU stands 39-20 on the season and is headed to its eighth NCAA Regional as a Division I program. FAU was ranked 25th in the April 1 poll.

The team went undefeated at the Sun Belt Conference Tournament, winning four straight games, including a 16-8 defeat of host Louisiana-Lafayette in the championship game. The victory gave the Owls the Sun Belt Conference's automatic berth into the NCAA Tournament.

The Owls have won a regular-season or conference tournament title three of the last four seasons.

FAU will head to the Chapel Hill, NC Regional where they will be the no. 2 seed. The Owls will play Towson at 1 p.m. eastern on Friday.
