BOCA RATON, Fla. - The Florida Atlantic University baseball team returns home to host St. John's home stand beginning on Friday, Feb. 28 at the FAU Baseball Stadium.
Friday's first pitch is slated for 6:30 p.m. while the teams will face off on Saturday at 4 p.m. and Sunday at 1 p.m.
Head Coach John McCormack's Owls (6-2) ride a three-game winning streak into the weekend battle, having defeated Monmouth twice over the weekend and North Florida on Tuesday in a rain-shortened series.
The FAU pitching staff has been stellar throughout the first eight games of the season. Coach Jason Jackson's crew has dealt 78 strikeouts and with only 19 walks. Opponents are hitting just .224 against the Owls, who have seven pitchers who combine for 29.2 innings without allowing an earned run this year.
FAU's offense boasts ten players who are hitting .241 or better, led by freshman Stephen Kerr's .440 average. Kerr leads the squad in runs scored (8) and on-base percentage (.531) while senior catcher Levi Meyer has driven in a team-high eight runs.
FAU leads the all-time series against St. John's 3-0. In the last meeting, the Owls won 5-3 on March 3, 1999 in Boca Raton.
