BOCA RATON, Fla. - Coming off of a 5-2 Wednesday victory at nationally-ranked Miami, the Florida Atlantic University baseball team will return home to host Monmouth (N.J.) in a three-game series starting on Friday, Feb. 21.
The Owls (3-1) fell to Notre Dame in their first game of the season, but have won their last three outings. The FAU offense has earned 36 runs on 51 hits over four games while the pitching staff has struck out 43 and held their opponents to just 32 hits.
FAU is 27-5 all-time against Monmouth, including a three-game sweep in their last meeting in March, 2011 in Boca Raton.
Friday's first pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. with junior Austin Gomber (0-1) getting the starting nod for the Owls. On Saturday, Jeremy Strawn (1-0) will take the hill for a 4 p.m. first pitch and newcomer Drew Jackson (1-0) will face the Hawks on Sunday at 1 p.m.
